Growing up in Perth, Western Australia Luke began playing tee-ball at a young age for the Morley Eagles, the same club where he played all of his junior baseball and the same club he still plays at today.

On April 28, 2010 after 7 years of professional baseball, Luke reached his ultimate dream a call up to the BIG LEAGUES.

In his first Major League at bat Luke lined up against Detroit Tigers future Cy Young winner Max Scherzer. On a 2-2 count Luke launched his first major league hit, a Home Run to right field.

“What a moment for Luke Hughes what a moment for Australia” running commentary by the famous Dick Bremwer.

Fast forward to the age of 32 after 14 years on the Australian National Team and 17 years in the Perth Heat organisation and a list of accolades add his current title of Baseball WA High Performance Manager Luke cannot wait to share his passion and knowledge and to continue his involvement within the game that has been his life.

Tim is a born and bred Perth boy and has made a big impact on Perth and Australian Baseball over the last 15 years. Coming from a big baseball family with 4 of the 5 brothers playing professional baseball and representing both Australia and the Perth Heat.

Tim began playing Tee-ball for East Fremantle T-ball club at a young age before making the leap into baseball at the Melville Braves Baseball Club around the age of 10. Baseball started to become more serious when he was selected in the WA state 16's side before being selected to train in the WAIS program under Don Kyle. This is where he started making good progress before being drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2003.
